5:44 the boss is quite strong so that makes killing the boss much more difficult. There are two main ways that he could potentially get killed, either 1 crit from Killer Axe Duessel + someone else finishes the kill, for example horseslayer Lvl 9 Kyle if he has a bow equipped or Cormag with an axe reaver against the lance reaver.
Another way is that level 4/5 Ephraim can crit kill him with the Reginleif. Even if the boss has the Lancereaver equipped but this only works as long as Ephraim has 8 strength which he loses once he reaches level 6.
8:03 It's also good that he get's these kills because it does mean that he get's a bit more weapon xp, which is good since he needs to reach S Lances by chapter 18
