The new Ferrari convertible uses the same twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 engine as the coupe, complete with 711 horsepower and 568 pound-feet (770 Newton-meters) of torque to match the 488 Pista. With 50 hp and 7 lb-ft (10 Nm) more than the model it supersedes, the new F8 Spider does the 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) run in 2.9 seconds or a tenth of a second quicker than its predecessor. 0-124 mph (0-200 kph) takes 8.2 seconds or half a second sooner than before, while the top speed of 211 mph (340 kph) is a considerable improvement over the 488 Spider’s 203 mph (325 kph).
