An attempt at a low level game on the FF6 Return of the Dark Sorcerer (RotDS) Mod created by Gi Nattak. Played on Casual mode.

This guy isn't really too difficult overall, though you will need to have float since Epitaph likes using earth elemental attacks such as Magnitude Eight and Quake when it gets low enough in HP. Everyone is equipped with Angel Pendants for both Float and Regen status, which actually helps out in the healing department a bit, at least for Tifa, anyway. You also need to bring some Tissues along in case it uses Dread Gaze, which sets petrify. Other dangerous attacks include the aforementioned Dread Gaze and Rock Slide.

Speaking of Tifa, she is the most resistant character on the team as she can survive practically everything except for Dread Gaze or Rock Slide. I got the Fairy Robe out of a chest in the dungeon, then went back to the Coliseum and bet it for a Shaman Dress, which was NOT an easy job, mind you. Shaman Dress acts almost exactly like the Minerva in the vanilla version, giving protection from fire, ice, wind and lightning, and halving holy, earth, water and poison. That plus Eaglehorn, which gives auto-shell and protect, means that Tifa only takes around 60 damage from Saintly Beam, and she can survive Holy if its used on her.

For damage, well, we can have Serin do his thing with the Psionic Wave; we want at least fire weakness to hit, then have him use his Nanoflare. Otis has Shipwrecker equipped for Cannon, which does 540 damage here (better than using Jump), and Ronan, well, yeah - Galick Gun spam. I also hit lightning weakness so Tifa could get in some Storms here and there, otherwise, she just runs support as she's harder to kill off than the rest of the guys are.

Other than that, Epitaph can really only kill one (sometimes two) person at a time, so it's not hard to stay alive. As long as you have a way to avoid both Magnitude Eight & Quake, and a way for Tifa to stay alive, then this boss won't be too bad to deal with.
