First Lucavi battle in this solo challenge run.

Ramza has good compatibility with this cheerful boy, and Ramza's stick damage is about as strong as a Life Drain aimed at Queklain (which is 100% accurate without Pray Faith! Not sure how high Queklain's Faith stat is, as you can't view his stats). LD obviously drains a considerable amount of health back but it is unlikely any damage at all will be done to us in this battle.

Here's the thing: unless Ramza is protected from Sleep/Death Sentence (and there's an accessory just for that), the boss will not rest until both are inflicted. Ramza will just stand there, asleep and awaiting his death sentence counter to reach zero, helpless. If Ramza is protected from these two statuses, the boss will opt to petrify him instead, at a 71% chance since my Ramza is Pisces. As you can tell, we aren't cool with either scenario at all.

So here's what we do: let Queklain inflict his statuses but when we do get a turn, cast Zombie on ourselves and pray it doesn't miss (it's pretty much 50/50). As a Zombie, we're already undead so Death Sentence doesn't trigger our death when the countdown reaches 0, but Queklain's AI assumes "oh he's Death Sentences so I might as well sit back and relax while he slowly dies" and he will only keep Ramza asleep without trying to damage him.

When sleep wears off, or if it happens to be blocked, Ramza has a chance to run up to Queklain and hit him with a stick, or perhaps connect a Life Drain - they deal around the same amount of damage. Sometimes Queklain silences Ramza so LD may not always be an option, but if we're out of range might as well charge one quickly.

It shouldn't take too long until the boss is dead thanks to his exploitable AI.
