For the last couple of years I believe without a shadow doubt that Fire Emblem has been the most played video game series in my spare time. It's funny - if I ever have the urge to play one of the games before going to bed, I can recall moving units around the field as I slept when I awake. I haven't really done anything impressive in the series like an S-rank run or even a Hard mode in some of the games (In Radiant Dawn and Shadow Dragon H5 mode I would rage at it so hard that I simply couldn't continue either hard difficulty run). I've played the games a whole lot though and even finished a "themed" run a year or so ago, in Radiant Dawn easy mode, using all female characters. I didn't choose Normal because certain parts would've been next to impossible without battle save abuse. I never recorded that run because it was nothing special or interesting really, but I thought I should record a full Fire Emblem challenge of some sort some time anyway, and now's a good time. I feel like I need to make a tribute to this series.

Anyway, this is going to be an All Female run in the GameCube game Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. However, since you get your Jeigan/Oifey female character who can easily solo the non-defend maps on her while the males rescue themselves and hide in corners of the map, I thought it'd be more interesting for me to play the early chapters (which are severely lacking in female characters until Mia, Ilyana, Mist and Marcia join) in a different way: clear them as quickly as possible while grabbing all the useful items and treasure along the way. Not quite a low turn playthrough until more girls are available, but something of that kind.

Chapter 1
completed in 3 turns

This can be done in 2 turns, but it's unlikely to do so without getting the Seraph Robe from the north-western village unless Oscar gets a critical hit on first turn's enemy phase (3% plus his attacks already have shaky accuracy since he's at a weapon triangle disadvantage).

I grab the treasure, shove Ike so that he gets some experience (he will NOT be playable when I get enough female characters, though he'll need to seize some maps). Really though, if Ike solos the game so easily with Ragnell, what's the point of having all those other girls?

Chapter 2
completed in 4 turns

While the 3-turn clear in the previous chapter is terribly easy and, I believe, impossible to fail, I needed a few retries to get this one done right.

Titania arrives on the 3rd turn and until then it's a good idea to start beating up the enemies who will be out of Titania's range, starting with the ones to the west. Oscar is again mostly at a weapon triangle disadvantage, but who has it even worse is Boyd whose attacks are only around 70% accurate. I believe this game also has a distinction between true and displayed hit rate but even then you can agree that 82% accurate attacks are nothing to be relied on either.

I also had to reset a few times because Titania just refused to connect an axe attack on a Myrmidon next to the boss (she needs to be equipped with a Steel Axe otherwise she won't one-round the boss on enemy phase). It's also worth noting that Oscar trades some of her weapons away during turn three because otherwise I'll be prompted to throw something away when she acquires another Steel Axe (we don't have a place where we store items just yet), and I'd rather keep all the weapons I have, even though you get ridiculous amounts of money in this game.

So yeah, really simple chapters and tactics so far.

As for the actual challenge and its rules, I'll state those in great details when I play the first chapter with an all female party. Still a ways to go until then.

And oh yeah, I should probably say that I'm playing Hard Mode with fixed stat growth. I'll elaborate on why I chose that later on.
