FFVIA - Locke Solo Part II: up to the 2nd Ultros
Hell's Rider, Kefka, Dadaluma and Ultros2 are all defeated in this video.
If you could defeat Tunnel Armor, you'll have no problems with Hell's Rider. Doublewield your Air Knives for good damage and wear Hermes Sandals to take more turns than the enemy. I was bold enough to stand in the front row and in this case Silver Lance takes off more than 60% of your HP, so healing in the right time is important. I didn't bother stealing an Elixir from him, and Mythril Vest is inferior to Ninja Gear, which I got from Shadow.
Kefka is HARD. You don't have Reflect Rings yet and his spells hurt a lot. If you do it the same way as before, you will get killed by a Blizzara at full health. I changed the Genji Glove for a Ribbon, as you don't want to risk being confused or even poisoned; instead, you don't have to worry about being killed when he attempts to confuse you. This also allowed me to equip a shield, allowing Locke to survive a Blizzara at full health. I would have still got killed if he had cast it in the wrong time, but I didn't want to stick to attacking only when his physicals attacks/he uses Confuse and relied on luck instead. Another alternative would be to grind before the battle, but I skipped all Imperial battles on purpose to make it more challenging.
Dadaluma is easy before you land the fourth hit on him, because that's the time he throws TWO items at you, one after another. That means you must have around 1500 HP, which I obviously didn't have. I figured I should just Jump over his attacks, which I did, and found out that his throwing rage is only triggered if you use four *Fight* commands and Jump doesn't trigger it. I also avoided most of his attacks while jumping, nice.
The 2nd Ultros was much easier than I had expected. The problem with Ultros in a solo game is that you may not be able to defeat him before he gets his 3rd turn. If he does, he changes his position and his HP is back to full. I doublewielded two of those long-range weapons that deal full damage from the back row and also equipped a Gigas Glove to boost my offense. He went down just before he could get his HP back. Phew.
