Utilizing Active Menu Glitch and it's ability to eliminate invisble walls, if you start from far back enough, you actually jump about the rocks from the back of the Deadeye maze, and head towards just outside the battle arena (note, there are more invisble walls from getting into the battle area directly, and you want to hear Gladio's "All in a day's work" line, along with the fog atmosphere change, to spawn the boss).

Whether this is faster or not remains to be seen, but it's a neat trick to do.
