The Federal Government has indicated plans to review the nations visa and immigration policy to bolster the ease of doing business in the country.

Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, disclosed this at a stakeholders' consultative meeting on Nigeria Visa Policy held in Abuja.

The Minister who reinstated the urgent need to remove the bottlenecks that have continued to encumber access to the country by foreign investors, also made a case to strike a balance on the principle of reciprocity in issuance of visas to persons seeking to enter the country.

Tunji- Ojo added that the meeting with the stakeholders was initiated to look at the nation's visa categories and compare them to other countries that have been able to double their GDP and per capital income.

Speaking with journalists, the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, highlighted some of the gains Nigeria stands to achieve from the stakeholders meeting.

The stakeholders are also expected to look into reshaping the nation's borders for inclusivity and economic growth without compromising national security.
