Final Fantasy 13-2 Boss 15 Time devourer Ugallu (Optional)
0This is one of those optional bosses that's at the end of a major quest line so it still has story relevance. To access this boss you need to complete basically every red orb quest in Yaschas Massif 110 AF and 100 AF. After finishing those red orbs you'll have to deal with some hands of time puzzles in order to more or less undo the seal on this monster (Why you'd wanna do that I dunno) anyways Ugallu has 2 attacks. A melee swipe attack that he loves to spam as well as Virtulent breath that can hit everyone within it's fan shaped range doing a lot of damage as well as debuffing and poisoning. The boss will start off the fight with roar basically buffing all of it's stats. I'd advise swapping to a paradigm with a synergist for the start of the fight to just throw up some defensive buffs while waiting for his roar to wear off. After that the boss has a sort of second phase once he reaches half health but it's just that he'll cast roar again. Don't wait for it to wear off here because his AI is programmed to recast it immediately after it wears off. Don't bother trying to remove the buff either. He's immune to dispel and deprotect and deshell can't do much when he's constantly under a roar buff the only debuff worth bothering with is imperil. Overall a kind of annoying boss that's deceptively difficult to beat despite being an extremely simple fight.
