Final Fantasy 7 Remake - Hard difficulty Setup
28Hi everyone with this setup is how I defeated the Ultimate weapon and beat the story on Hard difficulty which led me to my Platinum Trophy!
Sorry for mouthing out words.. but I dont have a decent microphone yet, so here comes a wall of text instead and a bunch of gesticulations on camera.
Heres the setup I had when I cleared Hard mode.
Cloud: Twin Stinger - More MP and Reprieve. Ideally if you upgrade all the weapons, the Buster Sword is by far the best, but it is lacking a vital trait - Reprieve. If only the Buster Sword had that.. Iron Blade has the Reprieve trait but it gives me 35 less in MP.
So I thought MP would be my go to, since in Hard mode you cant use Items at all and you cant get MP back by sitting on a bench. You only get HP back.
The choice of weapon therefore fell on Twin Stinger.
Same for the other characters, important that they all have Reprieve trait unlocked. In case you encounter an enemy that does 9999 dmg to you, you still survive with 1 HP and can heal yourself up again.
Setup:
Weapon: Twin Stinger.
Materia: Elemental+Fire
Almost all human and some monsters have weakness for fire.
First Strike Materia -
To be able to use an ability right from the beginning of the fight.
2 x HP Up - More HP
1 x MP Up - More MP.
Summon? Whichever you want.
Armor:
Chain Bangle - 4 Materia slots.
Chakra / Prayer (if Aerith is on the team) / If Aerith is NOT on the team - Magnify+Healing, Revival and Steadfast Block Materia (Take Less damage when guarding + gain large ATB Boost when guarding.)
Accessory:
Champion Belt / Götterdämmerung (the best accessory in the game)
Barret or Tifa
Weapon:
EKG Cannon or Purple Pain (Reprieve perk and generally the better weapon)
Materia:
Elemental+Lightning for all robot enemies.
Auto-Cure (not necessary - Swap it if you want) Ideally First Strike Materia
2x HP Up
1x MP Up
Summon? Whichever you like.
Armor:
Supreme Bracer
Prayer, Healing and Revival materia.
Accessory:
Champion Belt
Aerith: (Dedicated Healer)
Weapon:
Reinforced Staff
Materia: 2x Magic up Materia, 2x HP Up, 2x MP Up.
Armor:
Supreme Bracer
Magnify+Healing, Revival.
Accessory:
Healing Carcanet.
Platinum trophy done!
