00:00 - The first of these side quests is going to be defeating the Ultimate Weapon, who you may have noticed hanging out in the crater beside Midgar. I've gone over my materia and equipment set up for this battle at the start of the video. I would recommend the Cloud, Cid and Yuffie party as Cloud and Cid have triple materia growth weapons with Apocalypse and Scimitar and Yuffie has a relatively high attack double growth weapon with Rising Sun.

On these slots make sure you have your strongest materia that we are looking to level up quickly for side quests to follow. Double Cut, Mime, Counter Attack, Comet, Ultima and Quadra Magic are top picks. Don't worry we will be maxing out all materia in this playthrough buy focus on the ones you like using in battle.

Equip a party member with all 4 Enemy Skills to learn Shadow Flare on all of them. Ultimate won't use this attack until the final battle over Cosmo Canyon so you can wait until before this battle before you equip them but if you're confident in your set up I would do it now.

Equip the other two party members with your strongest summons - Neo Bahamut if we are excluding Knights of the Round in order to steal the items we want to steal. Strongest magic - Comet and Ultima. You will have one party member with strong Enemy Skills too. Give one of your party members Steal materia and equip them with the Sneak Glove accessory if you have it. (Don't leave it on the wrong party members like me) Definitely make use of Long Range Materia and move your party into the back row to avoid taking as much damage.

01:20 - When you're happy with the set up, get in Highwind, head to Midgar and fly around until you bump into Ultimate Weapon to start the first battle. Start by using Regen and Big Guard and make sure you steal the Circlet accessory. You can steal one from all of the aerial battles with Ultimate. Then hit with your strongest enemy skills and magic. Eventually after a few turns Ultimate will fly off.

02:50 - You will now have to chase Ultimate about the world map to engage in another battle. He won't stop at the next battle destination if you don't bump into him about 4 or 5 times, so keep flying about until you spot him and bump into him to persuade him to stop at either Junon Area, Mideel Mt. Nibel, North Corel, Gongaga, Fort Condor, Midgar or the Northern Crater.

05:00 - When he does stop, bump into him again and repeat the prevous battle plan. If it is an aerial battle (Junon Area, Mideel, Mt. Nibel, North Corel) where your party are on Highwind, you can steal a Circlet. If it is a ground battle (Gongaga, Fort Condor, Midgar or the Northern Crater), you can steal a Reflect Ring.

06:00 - Once again, Ultimate will fly off and you will have to chase him down again, bump into him and start another battle. Once you get his HP under 20000 over the course of the various battles, he will fly off towards Cosmo Canyon to make one final stand.

19:20 - Before you start the battle, make sure you have equipped all of your Enemy Skill Materia on your strongest character so you can learn Shadow Flare. This is his final attack to the character who gets the killing blow. Start with Big Guard and Regen and make sure you only attack with the party member with the enemy skill materia equipped or use Sense and make sure they get the last attack which can be riskier.

21:45 - You will get Cloud's ultimate weapon - Ultimate Weapon for winning and a massive 35000 experience points and 3500 AP. He will also leave a large crater allowing you to gain access to the Ancient Forest without a chocobo.
