The W-Item glitch allows you to duplicate any item you can select in battle.

To perform the glitch, have the Materia equipped, and select the first item and use it on a character or enemy.

Then, select the second item - the one you want to duplicate - but before you use it, press back to return to the item select menu.

Doing so will increase the item’s quantity by one.

Repeat this process - selecting the second item but cancelling before you use it - to duplicate as many times as you want.

The W-Item glitch can be performed on all versions of the game - including ports to PS4, Switch, Xbox and so on.

The W-Item Materia can be found during the Midgar Raid at the end of Disc 2, or if missed, from the Bone Village dig site on Disc 3.

W-Item is particularly useful for stocking up on Elixirs for Magic Pot farming - helping you unlock the Level 99 and 999,999,999 Gil Trophies / Achievements faster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DecdOdfqzU
