Final Fantasy [GBA] Playthrough #08, Cavern of Earth: Vampire-hunting
18This is video #08 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy on the Nintendo GameBoy Advance. This game is part of the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls compilation.

Previously, the party helped Nerrick "blaw" a canal from the Aldean Sea to the western ocean, and they reached the town of Melmond. Now, they will head south to the Cavern of Earth to find the source of the earth's decay.
The Cavern of Earth is on a peninsula to the south of Melmond (time 0:49). The party begins on floor B1.
In a battle, the party reaches Level 18 (time 2:02).
In a treasure room to the north and east of the entrance, a chest contains 1,975 gil (time 2:42).
East and then south of the entrance, there is another treasure room (time 6:12). The chests contain a Potion and 880 gil.
Another treasure room is southeast of the entrance (time 7:05). The chests contain 795 gil and an Antidote.
After popping outside to rest with a Tent, the party takes the eastern corridor. They find a stairway leading down to floor B2 (time 9:01).
There is a treasure room east of the stairway (time 9:20). The chests contain a Coral Sword, a Tent, and 330 gil.
Another treasure room is in the south (time 10:12). Look out for a fixed battle with an Earth Elemental.
After the battle, the party reaches Level 19 (time 10:31).
The chests contain 575 gil, a Leather Shield, and 5,000 gil (time 11:08).
In the east, a stairway leads down to floor B3 (time 13:12).
In the southeast room, a chest contains a Sleeping Bag (time 14:02).
In the eastern room, a chest contains a Gold Needle (time 15:26).
Along the main path, a room north of the stairway houses a chest with 3,400 gil (time 16:38).
Continuing on, the party reaches Level 20 (time 18:07).
In a room off the western part of the path, there is a chest guarded by an Earth Elemental (time 18:41). It contains 1,020 gil.
Directly north of the stairway, the party finds the room with the Vampire (time 19:16). After a villainous monologue, it is time to battle the Vampire. More of a miniboss, really.
The chest past the Vampire contains the Star Ruby key item (time 20:16). Hm, we had heard about a giant that likes rocks.
North of Mr. Vampire's lair, there is an immovable stone slab (time 20:37). Got to find a way to move it.
The party backtracks out of the Cavern of Earth.
On the way out, the party reaches Level 21 (time 25:57).
They return to Melmond (time 28:58). Rosa picks up the Level 5 white magic spells Curaga, Diaga, and Healara. Rydia picks up the Level 5 black magic spells Firaga and Slowra. Teleport would be nice, but she cannot learn it yet. The party also gets another Silver Armlet for Rydia.
The Vampire is dead, yet the earth still decays. Next time, the party will head west and consult with Sadda.
