The first boss of FF1 and ultimately becomes the main villain of the series due to time travel plot. Defeating him allows you to fix to bridge in Cornelia to continue onward to Pravoka (GO LABOR FORCE!)

If anyone wishes to ask about my settings, I will answer questions. I use emulators a lot and I tend to experiment with settings often. I will also do the NES version when I can.

PLAN

Garland just attacks every turn he gets, but he can hit hard, especially if you decide to challenge him off the bat or barely do battles on the way here. However, because he has no access to spells, the threat is more about the condition of which you enter battle (difference between fighting him at full strength vs fought random battles and are at critical status).

It is recommended to challenge him at Level 4 or higher. Not only do you have the HP to survive his offense, your melee classes start doing 2 Hit attacks. Un-equip your Monk's weapon for fists as it does more damage.

Mages should cast Fire and Thunder every turn they can. Use Protect on your most frail characters so they don't get heavily damaged. Potions help but try to conserve them for travel.
