Archeodemon is the second last mandatory boss in the Sealed Temple. To access him, you need to talk to the NPC before the warp point that takes you to the Crystal Realm portion of the Temple. He will give you the key to the jail to challenge Archeodemon. A warp in the Ronka Ruins basement will take you to him faster.

There are two ways to gun down Archeodemon, this is combat through Physical - The fun but more complicated approach. It is a tad safer if you know what you are doing. As always, no Rapid Fire, but this is also good for you Rapid Fire lovers out there.

PLAN
=====
The physical approach to Archeodemon takes more preparation than the magical approach. But it is very doable.

Now if you remember from the magic video, any physical attack done on Archeodemon immediately counters with Death on self. If this connects, Archdeodemon will be restored to full heatlh. Using Reflect, you will ensure that Death never heals him. But what about your team?

You got 4 options to protect yourself:
A) Take the attack as it is and Arise/Resurrection anyone who is KOed. He will counter twice if you wield 2 weapons, so worst case you lose 2 people. You will have to take your turns carefully if you do this. Aegis Shields on 1 or 2 people might be a safe idea.

B) Take my approach. Mix Phoenix Down and Holy Water to get Lifeshield, which adds Deathproofing for the battle and apply this on all your characters before attacking. This will take a longer time to setup, but it will ensure that all the angles are covered and you can heal your team if you need to. You can also mix Dragon Fangs and Maiden Kiss to make Dragon Kiss and achieve the same effect, with an added bonus of any Dragon weapons and Apollo Harp doing bonus damage if you apply it to the boss as well.

C) Fight Zombie to Zombie! Rare steal from Necromancers 4 Bone Mails and equip them all. These will render you Undead and Death will be healing you. But you will be unable to heal your party. It is wise to summon Carbuncle if you do this.

D) Drain his MP to the point he cant cast Magic. This will require some major Magic Hammer abuse. It will take long to do this, but he will be skipping turns trying to cast magic he has no MP for. However, he can still attack with Mega and Giga Flare. You cannot Osmose him as you will end up damaging your own MP supply.

With these countermeasures you are free to lay waste to him however you see fit. Just make sure you strip some of his Defenses with Turtle Soup or Off-Guard to ensure your attacks hit for full. You may also Dragon Kiss Archeodemon so that Dragon weapons can harm him. Dragon Kiss however will trigger a Death counter.

If you fight through this method, you will protect yourself from ??? counters and you can use Rapid Fire or Dragon Lance Jumping safely.

Mega Flare - Non elemental damage to all party members. Can be reflected.
Giga Flare - Non elemental damage to all party members. Will cast if below 10000 HP and finishes charging.
??? - Deals damage equal to Archeodemon's missing HP, caps at 9999
Flare - Non elemental damage to 1 party member. Can be reflected.
Death - Fully heals Archeodemon. Counter attack to physical damage.
