Final Fantasy IV [PC] Playthrough #062, NG+: Giant of Babil: Elemental Archfiends; CPU
2This is video #062 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy IV for the PC. This is episode 22 of the second playthrough. I am playing on Hard mode.

Previously, the party awoke Yang in the Sylphs' house with his wife's Frying Pan. Rydia learned the Sylph summon, and the party acquired Yang's augments. They also got the Adamantite and took it to Kokkol's Forge, where Kokkol used it to upgrade the Mythgraven Blade to the Excalibur. They gained the use of the Lunar Whale and traveled to the Moon. There, they met Fusoya, who has joined them to stop the Giant of Babil from destroying the Blue Planet.
The party resumes by the Lunar Whale northwest of the Crystal Palace. Aboard the Lunar Whale, they examine the crystal to initiate travel to the Blue Planet.
Blue Planet Overworld (time 1:13):
As the party returns to the Blue Planet, a scene takes place. They were too late to prevent the Giant of Babil from being brought to the Blue Planet! However, the party's friends have banded together to fight it. Awesome. Cid helps the party get into the Giant of Babil itself.
Giant of Babil (time 5:59):
We regain control of the party in the first area of the Giant of Babil, the Giant's Mouth. They will not be able to leave until they have completed the Giant of Babil. While all the enemies are dangerous, the Beam Cannons are especially nasty.
Rosa reaches Level 57.
In the north, the party takes the teleporter to the second zone, the Giant's Neck. This area is very small.
To the south, they take a teleporter to the third zone, the Giant's Chest. They arrive in the north-central part of the zone. This map is more substantial.
A chest in the northwest contains a Fuma Shuriken.
In the southwest, a chest contains a Hi-Potion.
Cecil reaches Level 58.
In the southeast, a chest contains an Ether.
In the northeast, a chest contains a quiver of Yoichi Arrows.
On a platform south of the center, a chest contains a Siren.
The party takes the northeast teleporter to the Giant's Stomach. They arrive in the south of the zone.
The chest north of the teleporter contains a Silver Apple.
In the northeast, a chest contains a Soma Drop.
Fusoya reaches Level 51. He will not gain stat boosts upon level-up.
Edge reaches Level 56.
In the northwest, the party takes the teleporter to the Inner Passage.
In the south, the party can go north across a bridge to find a chest with an Elixir.
In the middle of the area, there is a Hummingway merchant by a save point. The merchant sells soome decent items in case the party needs them. The party saves at the save point before going on.
Rydia reaches Level 58 and learns the Black Magic spell Tornado.
The northeast teleporter leads on to the Inner Stair. The party prepares for a boss battle before proceeding any further.
A scene takes place as the party reaches the middle of the Inner Stair. The Elemental Archfiends draw near! Before the battle, Rubicante fully heals the party. How honorable.
It is time for a rematch against the Elemental Archfiends. They will appear in sequence. First up is Scarmiglione. Not too bad. His Cursed Elegy can inflict the party with Slow. Rosa's Curaja spells will hurt him badly.
Second, the party faces Cagnazzo again. Don't forget to use Thunder to interrupt his Tsunami.
The third contender is Barbariccia. Kain is not around this time to stop her whirlwind. However, she is weak to holy-elemental attacks. Fusoya's Holy spell and Rydia's Dragon summon are good choices.
Last up is Rubicante. Edge should have the Steal command ready to interrupt Inferno when Rubicante opens his cloak. However, if Rydia is hasted and has Fast Talker, she can land a Blizzaga spell while his cloak is open.
Once all the Elemental Archfiends are defeated, Rosa reaches Level 58.
A brief scene takes place after the Elemental Archfiends are defeated. Bye bye!
In the second and third playthroughs, the party can examine the middle platform to fight Geryon, a fusion of the Elemental Archfiends. However, Geryon is no joke! The party can fight him later on Mount Ordeals, so they will do that instead.
The party returns south to the Inner Passage. They rest and save at the save point.
