Previously, Heorot continued training in Xarcabard and reached Level 55 as Red Mage. Now, he will begin training in the Western Altepa Desert, a vastly different environment.

Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He gets some good money in his delivery box for Ice and Light Clusters. Thank you to the purchasers! Heorot heads out to Bastok Mines.

Bastok Mines (time 1:10):

Heorot heads to the auction house to list more Ice Clusters and relist the Light Cluster that did not sell. Then, he teleports to Windurst Waters.

Windurst Waters (time 3:31):

In the southern part of Windurst Waters, Heorot visits the Federal Magic Reserve at G-8. From Hilkomu-Makimu, he picks up a Scroll of Blizzard II. He uses it to learn the Black Magic spell Blizzard II. No doubt this chilling spell will help cool off the parched monsters in the desert. Too bad Heorot cannot afford Dispel.

Heorot teleports back to Bastok Mines.

Bastok Mines (time 5:51):

Heorot heads back to the Residential Area.

Mog House (time 6:41):

Heorot does a little inventory management.

Bastok Mines (time 7:11):

Near the gate, Heorot talks to Crying Wind, I.M., at I-10 to refresh his Signet status. He also gets his Chariot Band recharged.

Then, he uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to the Western Altepa Desert in the Kuzotz region.

Western Altepa Desert (time 8:59):

Heorot arrives at the Survival Guide at K-7.

At L-5 near the entrance to Rabao, he finds the Field Manual. He accepts the Page 4 individual training to clear out 2 members of the Goblin family and 8 Tulwar Scorpions per training regime.

The Tulwar Scorpions are not especially difficult to locate. Heorot starts finding them in the open area around Revelation Rock in the northwest of the desert.

There are also Antica, insect-like beastmen, patrolling the area. (Ant-ica ... get it?) The Antican Retiarii and Antican Lanistae are mages, so be sure to silence them if possible. Page 5 individual training concerns Antican Secutors and Antican Lanistae.

During his training, Heorot reaches Level 56 as Red Mage.

When his sword skill reaches 175, Heorot learns the weapon skill Spirits Within.

Goblins are a little more difficult to find. They tend to appear around the Oasis of Hubol around E-9 in the southwest section of the desert, the Scorchvale. Tulwar Scorpions also spawn in the Scorchvale, so it is a decent area for Page 4 individual training.

Plenty of undead roam the land at night, so take care.

When he is done with a training session, Heorot exits to Eastern Altepa Desert at H-10.

Eastern Altepa Desert (time 1:04:43):

At the Kuzotz Outpost in the southwest, Heorot uses the Survival Guide at F-10 to teleport to Bastok Mines.

Bastok Mines (time 1:06:50):

Heorot visits Neigepance in the Chocobo Stables to sell off some excess loot for a pretty gil. Then, he heads home to the Residential Area.

Mog House (time 1:08:56):

Heorot signs off. Next time, he will continue training in the desert. Better bring sunscreen and water!
