Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GBA 2003) Part 10 ---- Monster Hunter Arc [No Commentary]
To recruit the secret character, Cheney, you must send the Snake Shield item on a mission/dispatch and reset till you get him. 1/5 chance. He comes with the Capture ability, which is nice, but the real ability is his Ultima Shot, which is one of the highest damaging moves in the game. You can learn this skill assuming you get the bow, but just like Lini, it's nice to have already learned at an early stage of the game, but not required.
To obtain all 300 mission completion, you must capture monsters. Capturing 5 different monsters unlocks Mission 100 after visiting the monster bank. This is the only requirement for monster capturing.
The capture mechanic is all RNG based. You cannot get higher than a 24% capture chance and there's some conditions. (Taken from the Hunter FFTA wiki):
----The monster cannot be at full health, or have at least 23/24 of it.
----The monster cannot be the last remaining enemy on the battlefield. The player can revive another enemy, preferably rendering it asleep, disabled, or stopped.
----The following enemies cannot be captured: Undead (Zombies and Vampires), Tonberrykind (Ton- and Masterberries), Rockbeasts (Toughskins and Blade Biters), and Fairies (Sprite and Titania).
----Any monster with a Hero Medal cannot be captured.
----A previously captured monster of the same species must not already occupy the available slot in the Monster Bank.
After that you can raise it, which is just feeding it consumable items until it likes you. After maxing it's heart out, you can feed it either curealls or elixirs/ethers to slowly increase it's base stats. (some conditions and not all monsters are affected by this). After all of that, you can have fun using monster skills as the Morpher class. (shown off in the next episodes).
---------------------------
One of the many GBA game's that, still currently have, I have played a lot of when I was younger. While I have beaten the story mode portion of the game which some of the post game, I have never finished all 300 quests, obtained every secret character, (including those that need items), along with just messing around in the game uses combinations of skills and such. (if I somehow lose an item that is needed for completion, I'll just ""cheat"" it back in).
I'll show off each clan overworld battle once or twice, but any other battle with the same clan that isn't part of the 300 missions I'll not record for. (Those would include each territories liberation and reclaim missions. I'll show off each once, but I'm not planning on uploading 40 parts of me doing the same 2 mission types).
