A playthrough of Shenzhen Nanjing's 2005 unlicensed role-playing game for the NES, Final Fantasy VII.

The version that I'm playing here has been patched to translate everything into English. It also expands upon the content of the initial release and improves the graphics. The game is a 2D, 8-bit demake of Square's 1997 PlayStation game (https://youtu.be/h0mqRkhOvtY ), and with the patch, it's an unexpectedly faithful one. It features most of the main events and plot threads as the original, and a lot of the dialogue is reproduced here, word-for-word.

The materia and equipment systems are super-simplified and the battles aren't particularly well-balanced, but the sheer novelty of the experience helps it over those bumps.
