Previously, Heorot began Maat's third level limit quest, "Whence Blows the Wind". He explored Davoi, helped make a Crimson Orb, and found the Orcish Crest in the Monastic Cavern. Now, he will seek the crests in Castle Oztroja.
Heorot resumes at his Mog House in Bastok. He heads outside to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 0:57):
Last time, Heorot earned a Scroll of Flash from an Orcish Warchief. His White Mage level is 50, so he will be able to learn this spell, but he will have to change to White Mage first. He will do that later.
To continue "Whence Blows the Wind", Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Castle Oztroja, Aragoneu.
Castle Oztroja (time 2:05):
To reach the Yagudo Crest in Castle Oztroja, Heorot must first find a series of three passwords that will open a trap door. Note that the passwords change once per Vana'diel day. That is why Heorot set out not long after midnight.
At H-8 on the first floor, Heorot examines the Torch Stand to open the door. This requires the Yagudo Torch key item. In the room at H-9, he examines the Brass Statue to learn the first word. On the day Heorot was here, it was "Deggi."
Now, Heorot will retrace his route towards the Magicite. The Brass Statue with the second word is in the basement near the Altar Room.
In front of the door at I-8, there are two Handles. One opens the door, while the other opens a trap door after a brief delay. Which Handle does which is randomly selected each day. Operate a Handle and then back off; that way, you will be safe if the trap door opens.
Past the door, Heorot goes upstairs. At J-8, he arrives on the second floor. Then, at G-7 in the northwest, he goes outside to I-8 in the southeast of the courtyard's upper level.
At I-7 in the northeast of the courtyard's upper level, he goes inside to G-6/G-5. He follows the corridor down to the basement. This place is considerably safer at Level 59 than it was around Level 40.
At H-9, Heorot examines a Torch Stand to open another door. At H-9 in the room beyond, he examines the Brass Statue for the second word. On the day Heorot was here, it was "Duzu".
At H-9, Heorot examines the Torch Stand to open and go through the door. He turns west and goes through the Brass Door at G-10 to the Altar Room.
Altar Room (time 13:53):
Heorot goes through the Altar Room. At H-6 in the north, he returns to Castle Oztroja.
Castle Oztroja (time 15:54):
Heorot starts at G-7 in the northwest of the lower level of the courtyard. At I-8 in the east, he goes inside to G-7 in the north of the first map.
After opening the door at I-8, he goes upstairs at J-8 to the second floor. He fights an easy battle so that Kupipi can establish some buffs.
At H-10 in the south, Heorot opens a hidden door at the apparent dead end. At I-10 in the room beyond, he finds a device with four levers. This does not do anything, but it provides more information that he needs. He will need to know the positions of the four levers: up or down.
At H-8, Heorot lights a Torch Stand to open another door. In the room beyond, he examines the Brass Statue at I-8 for the third word. On the day Heorot was here, it was "Ouzi". That is all the information he needs.
He takes out the Yagudo guarding the door at G-8. There are tougher Yagudo beyond the door, and letting them link is not a good idea.
A mechanism with four levers is near the door at G-8. Heorot must move the levers so that it matches the device at I-10. This opens the door so that Heorot can continue down the corridor.
At G-9, Heorot continues upstairs to the third floor. The Yagudo Parasites in the pool aggro to sound, so be sure to put up Sneak as well as Invisible.
At H-11, Heorot goes upstairs to H-9 on the fourth floor. This is where things get interesting for Level 59/60 characters. There are Torch Stands in the northwest, southwest, southeast, and northeast. Someone must light at least one Torch Stand to open the north-central door. However, each is guarded by a few tough or very tough Yagudo. Try to fight them one at a time, if possible.
Heorot gets a Monk's Testimony from a Yagudo Flagellant.
Heorot lights the northeast Torch Stand at H-7. This allows him to get through the north-central door at H-7. Everything beyond this door is unmapped.
Beyond the door, there is a Brass Statue with a wooden trap door in front of it. The player's party must stand on the trap door while one enters the three passwords in order. Heorot enters the three passwords that he learned: "Deggi", "Duzu", and "Ouzi". The trap door drops him to a lower level. The space at the bottom is safe for putting up Invisible.
The description is continued in the comments.
