Final Fantasy XI Online (or "FFXI") was originally released in Japan in 2002 and a year or so later in the US and Europe, on PS2 and PC. It was later released on Xbox360, but now only the PC version remains active and supported.
I have never played this game, or any MMORPG before. However, eighteen years since it was first released, I'm finally giving it a go. I don't know what to expect or if I will play beyond my free subscription, but here is my first day's sessions combined into a single video. Apologies for the aspect ratio error making everyone look squat; this was not something I realised until later.
In this session, I basically learn the ropes, learn how the interface works, learn how to talk to characters and use items, learn the layout of the starting city of San d'Oria, battle some easy monsters outside and level up a few times. This is gonna take a while, huh?
