If you fail the Ghast dodge, go ahead and fight it. Spending at least 56 seconds in this fight gives you a 96% chance of a Deceptisol. Since 56 seconds is about 30 seconds longer than just winning the fight, it's ideal to go for the Deceptisol.

Give the Ghast five Attacks from Lightning, and then wait for 56 seconds to pass. The max damage Ghast can do is 80 with Fire, so if either Lightning or Sazh drops to 80 or fewer HP, throw a Potion.
