Previously, we began the game. After the incendiary prologue, the party had to push the broken-down Regalia to the Hammerhead outpost, where the crotchety Cid will work on it. It seems the party has a little time to kill, so they will explore Hammerhead.
There is an equipment salesman in the southern part of Hammerhead (time 0:08). It has a few elementary weapons available. However, Noct has no funds.
Ignis eventually speaks up (time 0:32). He issues the story quest "The Pauper Prince". In short, the party needs money, so he suggests they talk to Cindy.
Afterwards, Noctis talks to Cindy again (time 1:17). There are a few options, but a good one is to "Ask for a loan". She assigns them to defeat three groups of pests in the countryside nearby. With the option I selected, the party will earn 10 AP. Cindy gives the party a Bronze Bangle, an accessory that boosts max HP by 50. However, she warns them not to run around after dark, lest they run into dangerous, absurdly over-leveled daemons. She also loans them 1,000 gil.
The party pokes around Hammerhead for loose items.
By the tank in the southeast corner, there is a Metal Scrap (time 3:55).
Between a red car and a gray pickup in the northeast, there is a Debased Coin (time 5:05).
Near some tires and barrels in the north, there is another Metal Scrap (time 5:47).
On the southern side of the concrete building in the northwest corner, there is a Potion (time 6:32).
On a ventilation unit on the west side of the convenience store, the party finds Oracle Ascension Coin #001 (time 7:23). These are this game's form of Mini Medals.
The item shop is in the convenience store (time 9:02). Wow, Hi-Elixirs are available already! Repair Kits are useful for helping stranded motorists throughout the open world. There are also a couple of sountrack albums, Memories of FFIV and Memories of FFVIII.
In the shrubs along the southern edge of Hammerhead, there is a Metal Scrap (time 10:16).
Along the western side of Hammerhead, there is an RV trailer to stay in for cheap (time 11:05). The EXP multiplier is only 1.2, so I can't recommend staying here to level up, only if night is fast approaching.
Takka's Pit Stop, the diner in the northwest, has a radio that the party can listen to (time 11:45). Radios offer insight into the story so far. There is information regarding the upcoming peace treaty between Lucis and the Empire. This also information about Lady Lunafreya, Noctis's betrothed.
Noctis chats with Takka, the local tipster (time 17:49). He seems a bit jumpy. The Talk option marks several places on the map, including nearby havens, parking spots, outposts, and procurement points. It can also narrow down some quest locations. With the Eat option, the party can buy a meal that boosts specific stats or resistances for a time. With the Hunt option, the party can take on hunts in the local area. Hunts are a prime source of gil. Sadly, the party can only take on one hunt at a time, and each hunt is specific to an outpost. Some hunts require higher hunt ranks. The party begins at Hunt Rank 1, Apprentice.
The party can sell off some of the treasures that they find for gil. However, I recommend keeping a few of everything for use later.
Next time, the party will strike out to eliminate the pests for "The Pauper Prince".
