Previously, we continued Episode Ignis. After defeating Caligo, Ignis teamed up with Ravus and headed to Pitra District in the southeast of Altissia.

After resuming, Ignis talks to Ravus, and they proceed to the Altar of the Tidemother in the southeast corner of the map. After Ignis is privy to a troubling vision, he approaches the altar. After a scene, Ignis must battle Ravus. It would help if we could give Ignis lightning-resistant accessories. Bring plenty of curatives. Ignis's High Jump works pretty well, and so does Total Clarity with the flame enchantment. Look out for quick-time events.

More scenes take place after Ravus is defeated. Chapter 3: Sacrifices begins. Help apparently arrives, but it is not as it seems. For now, Ignis's only response to Ardyn's suggestion is to fight back. Ignis's decision impacts his future.

After the scenes, Ignis must battle Ardyn. More scenes take place afterwards. The canon credits and ending scenes take place. The ending is a nice touch. However, that is not all there is. There are also a couple of alternate endings.

For completing Episode Ignis on Normal, the player earns the trophy "A Noble Sacrifice".

A "new branch of fate", i.e. alternate endings, are unlocked in Chapter 3. The Extra Verse option will provide convenient access to them. Ignis acquires the Spelldaggers for use in the main game. Cooking utensils can now be purchased in Episode Ignis. Ignis now has access to the Crownsguard Casual attire in the main game.
