Previously, we continued Episode Ignis. After a bout with Ravus, Ignis fought Ardyn with the Ring of the Lucii, but using the Ring cost him his eyesight. The episode's canon ending took place.
After resuming, I start up the Extra Verse from the title screen. Chapter 3 starts as it did before. This time, when Ardyn makes his offer, Ignis takes the new option to play along.
Afterwards, Ignis will find himself in Zegnautus Keep. After a scene with Ardyn, he can proceed along the upper catwalk of the landing bay. The Crystal will give him some insight into Ardyn. Be sure to gather the items scattered around the landing bay. Some daemons will attack Ignis while he is here. A few of them are Elixirs, which could be very helpful.
Ignis follows Ardyn up to the Crystal Room via the elevator. As he approaches the Crystal, he meets Ardyn, who reveals his true name.
Downstairs, after Ignis uses the power of the Ring, the battle begins in earnest. Ardyn is not as easy as he was during the "canon" battle in Altissia.
Eventually, the Ring's power fades, and Ignis is presented with a choice. There are a few ways to get a bad ending. The most expedient way is to simply "Give up". After a scene with Ardyn, it's Game Over.
Ignis continues from the checkpoint, which leads him back to just before the battle with Ardyn. This time, when Ignis is presented with his choise, he chooses "Sacrifice my life". He now gains control of the Ring, but he has a strict time limit of four minutes to defeat Ardyn. High Jump can do a ton of damage, provided it hits.
If Ignis defeats Ardyn in the time limit, the alternate ending and credits will play out. Pretty cool. It would be even cooler if these were reflected in the main game.
This was Chapter 3, Verse 2: Possibilities. For defeating Ardyn in this extra chapter, the player earns the trophy "Another Path".
Very nice. Next time, we will start on the last DLC episode, Episode Ardyn.
Thanks for watching!
