Previously, we began Episode Gladiolus. Gladiolus began exploring the Tempering Grounds with Cor. He made it through the first couple of trials and reached the third campsite, the Steps of Solace.
After resuming, Gladiolus continues on through the Tempering Grounds. After facing the trial against Humbaba, he finds the "Cliffs of Contemplation", the last campsite.
Collecting all the items in the Tempering Grounds yields a trophy, "Picker-Upper". The tricky part is that the entire episode is linear with many points of no return.
At the end, Gladiolus faces the final boss of the episode, Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh has been a recurring character in several Final Fantasy games, including FF5, FF9, and FF12. His boss music is even an arrangement of "Battle on the Big Bridge". This battle should not be too hard if Gladiolus has picked up most of the items along the way.
In the end, Gladiolus defeats Gilgamesh. Episode Gladiolus concludes. The player earns the trophy "Shield of the Chosen King" for completing the trials on Normal. A couple of bonus features are unlocked in Episode Gladiolus. The Genji Blade becomes available as a weapon for Gladio during the main game, and the Dual Master Glave Art will be available for his use when the player is controlling him.
Next time, we will get started on Episode Prompto, which is a good deal more interesting.
Thanks for watching!
