Day 28 (Part 8)
The rest was worth it, we were ready for the fight...sort of. Both Bowsers seemed normal at first. I was surprised Paper Bowser didn't do anything fancy like Paper Mario could...well...at the moment.
Paper Bowser fused with Bowser to become Shiny Robobowser. All those attacks...so much fire...and magic! I could hardly keep track of where I was. I do remember Paper Mario was struggling. He was on fire at one point and we had to put him out.
It was right then that Luigi and I realized what would work best against the armor. FIRE! A few fire flowers and bombs later and Bowser was revealed...temporarily. Bowser was able to summon more paper minions to repair the armor. I hate it when Bowser tries to recover. We had to fight faster. So, Luigi got to work on using fire and bombs while Paper Mario and I finished off Bowser. It was quite the fight, but it wasn't that much different from any other time I've fought Bowser. Plus, it helped having Luigi and Paper Mario nearby. I gotta admit, Luigi's gotten better with those fire flowers.
When we finally hit the Bowsers hard enough...we weren't ready for the explosion. I think the blast threw me against a wall and I blacked out. I remember waking up with fuzzy vision, but I think I saw Paper Bowser reach for the book. I was trying to crawl for it, but Paper Mario beat me to it.
Paper Mario popped open the book and aimed it at Paper Bowser. I shook my head to clear my vision. I saw that Paper Bowser wasn't going back home willingly. I didn't notice Bowser's absence. Paper Mario told me later that Bowser fell over the edge. He's not dead. Bowser has survived MUCH worse.
Anyways, I managed to get Luigi back up and told him we had to help Paper Mario. We were still a little shaken from the blast, but we were still strong enough to help Paper Mario bring Paper Bowser back home. Paper Bowser screamed the whole way through. We actually had to force the book closed as he tried to get out.
Eventually, Paper Bowser stopped trying. He was back in his own world. Now, we just had to get everyone else back to their own world. The girls were so happy to see that we were safe. I really needed a nap, but a kiss from Peach is enough to get me back on my feet.
The girls helped us gather the rest of the paper minions and send them back home (Toadette supplied our rebuilt papercrafts to make the collecting process easier). Then all the Paper Toads went back home. Peach was a little sad to say bye to Paper Peach, but she knew that her new friend had to get back home.
It was a little hard to say goodbye to Paper Mario. He'd been so helpful and resourceful throughout this whole journey. He's a good friend and I hope that whatever new adventures await him are just as amazing as this one.
Well, it seems Bowser recovered quicker than we thought. I guess Luigi and I aren't getting a nap today.
