Link's Journal:
Day 1

Zelda told me she sensed something wrong happening at the Four Sword Sanctuary. She wanted me to come with her since she doesn't know if she can trust anyone else. I told her that she didn't need to worry and that what she was feeling was probably nothing.
I regret saying that because when we got to the sanctuary, the evil wind mage from legend, Vaati, took her away! I tried to stop him but it was no use! He knocked me out quickly! How did those other heroes manage to beat him?
Well, I got my answer when I woke up to three fairies. They told me that I had to pull the Four Sword. I hesitated. Zelda told me that if I touched the Four Sword, my body would shatter. The fairies reassured me that I would be ok, but...I didn't want to shatter....but how else was I supposed to take down Vaati? And what about Zelda? I can't abandon her!
I pulled the Four Sword out and this tingly feeling swept over me. At that moment, I saw three other boys who looked just like me, except they were wearing red, blue, and purple.
The fairies told us that we all had to work together and that the Great Fairies would help us access Vaati's Palace if we collected enough rupees on our travels.
The fairies left shortly afterwards. I think we were all a little shaken by this whole experience. Each copy of me behaved roughly the same way I did. I asked each one of them what they'd like to be called and we started thinking of names. The red one wanted to be called Aka, the blue one wanted to be called Ceru, and the purple one wanted to be called Vin. They weren't too happy that I got to keep my name and Aka even wanted us to be called by our colors. Vin shut that down quickly, as did Ceru.
Anyways, if my studies are correct, the first Great Fairy is hidden in the Sea of Trees. We headed over there and...it wasn't great at first.
Aka kept trying to pick fights with enemies and Ceru kept trying to run away from enemies. Vin was the only one who seemed to care about the task at hand. We ended up splitting up and came back with a bunch of rupees.
Right when we got back together, we were ambushed by a big manhandla! It wouldn't open up its petals! Ceru was hiding somewhere in the trees while Aka kept trying to open it by force. Vin managed to distract it and told me to throw something at it. So, I threw a rock. The petals opened up real nice, but they were blue and red!
Aka immediately lunged for the red petals. We yelled at Ceru that we needed his help, but he refused to come! I was distracted and one of the vines grabbed me and Aka. Vin was trying to get Ceru to come out but he was grabbed too.
We kept trying to slash at the vines, but they were too tough! I thought we weren't going to make it until the vines suddenly went limp and we fell to the ground. Ceru was standing over the corpse of the Manhandla, shaking. Aka was yelling at him, but I told him to stop since Ceru had just saved our lives!
Aka just turned toward the nearby cave where the Great Fairy welcomed us. She gave us a silver key. Ceru is holding onto it. Aka didn't like that, but everyone else agreed that since Ceru saved our lives, he deserves the honor of watching the key.
We're making our way to Talus Cave where the next Great Fairy is. I started practicing while the others were asleep and Ceru said he wanted to train with me. I was happy to teach him. He learned pretty quickly. He was surprised he learned so fast.
I'm not surprised. Father always told me I was a quick learner when it came to the sword. It makes sense for an exact copy of me to get it quickly as well.
I hope Zelda's ok. I have to stop Vaati before he marries her!
