The Lost Ark NA/EU Western Release is just around the corner, and I have spent nearly 1000 hours playing through this "new" MMORPG. Following my last Lost Ark Video "The MMORPG That Made Me Quit WoW", I received some comments from viewers stating that the video was sponsored, or that Lost Ark is simply a P2W Korean MMO. Well since then, I have decided to delve even further into Lost Ark by challenging myself with some of the most difficult content the game has to offer before it's official Western release. And after witnessing the LOA ON Winter 2021 Event, I am now an even bigger fan of Smilegate and the developers that work on the game.
Recently, Asmongold reacted to my friend Saintone's video "How Difficult is Raiding in Lost Ark", and since then, many questions have been raised about the success of Lost Ark in the Western Region. And although Lost Ark may not be for everyone, I hope this video as well as my initial review video can shed some light on this highly anticipated MMORPG. The developers of Smilegate have recently made significant changes to the game's monetization model as well as reduced the importance of Alt characters. Additionally, they have announced the addition of custom mod minigames as well as a complete revamp of the housing system in effort to attract more casual players. And, with the recent success of Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker, I personally believe Lost Ark has the potential of being a successful Eastern MMO within the Western market.
