Finding Paradise (Pt 1): Neo Promises to Help A Man Named Colin Reeds Fulfill His Last Wish
3[BLIND LET'S PLAY]
With him having recently completed "A Bird Story", Neo begins the second follow-up to "To The Moon" with great anticipation for what kind of tale that he and the two main characters, Eva and Neil, will experience.
Our story begins with Neo witnessing Eva and Neil JUST BARELY managing to avoid causing the single biggest road accident in all of human history. Neil and Neo are suitably freaked out, but Eva is as chill as Frosty the Snowman (comparatively speaking). Shortly after narrowly avoiding the creation of the Fallout universe, it becomes clear through their discussion and what equipment they have with them that they are going somewhere to meet with a new "client" whom they are undoubtedly going to do for him what they did for Johnny back in "To The Moon": to recreate the memories of their life to resemble something their client will see as more "ideal" so they can live out their new lives in their dreams before they inevitably pass on, in order to give them a "second chance" at life. The duo soon arrive at their client's residence (although not before Neo was given the opportunity to put a school-age bully in their place in a way that is befitting for how they were tormenting another kid), where they meet the client in question, a one "Colin Reeds", along with his wife and son.
Colin's wife makes it clear she doesn't find Neil and Eva's presence desirable, although she won't try to stop them from doing their job. Their son, Asher Reeds, is more welcoming, but is understandably curious about just how the procedure that they are going to put his father through is supposed to work. Soon all of Neil and Eva's equipment is set, and they enter Colin's conciousness and begin speaking to his mental avatar to let him know of their purpose. He allows them to proceed with their work in granting him his last wish.
What IS this last wish, exactly? To describe it succinctly, Colin wants Neil and Eva to fix any regrets in his life while keeping his memories of his family intact. Neo, Eva and Neil all wonder how they're supposed to use this vague description as a good starting point, but with nothing better to work with they proceed to start going back into Colin's earlier memories - although Neo sees something strange right as this process starts that fills him with a sense of unease...
