Fire Emblem: Three Houses Playthrough (Blue Lion): Part 9 (No Commentary)
This month's mission introduces a feature that I bet many people hate, fog of war.
Like in many strategy games, fog of war obscures parts of the map and hides enemies and other elements from the player. In order to attack enemies on the map, you need to have visuals on them first, meaning at least one unit must spend one turn finding them first before you can do anything.
Fortunately, the fog of war for this map can be removed by killing one of the mages of the map, have some units with high defense or avoid stat, go light up the path with torches and move the other units forward until you take care of the fog mage, then the rest of the map is a breeze. The only enemy you need to worry about is the boss Lonato.
I did lose Ingrid during the batle, but the rewind ability allowed me to undo that mistake. I was trying to have Dimitri go for Lonato since he also has unique dialogue with him, but oh well. (Units don't really die at this point, but they are still lost and cannot be deployed again if they lose all their HP)
Finally, you have allies who fight alongside you and you get a bonus if they all survive. Catherine is perfectly capable of handling herself, but the other soldiers might need a heal or two. Keep in mind though that Catherine will go for the boss too, so if you want the EXP then you should try to rush towards them while leaving some stragglers for her to chase.
On this part: We make one of our units attack their (adopted) father. which actually happens quite often in fire emblem games.
