Fire Pro Wrestling is an immensly popular and long-running professional wrestling video game series from Japan. The first game was released in 1989 by Human Entertainment and the series was continued by Spike in 2000. This is the only Dreamcast title and was released on 1st of March of 2001.
By then the series had appeared on platforms such as i-mode, Wonderswan, Super Famicom, Playstation and PC Engine. The latest game (so far) is on Xbox 360 in 2012.

The core of the series is the complex grappling system. It takes quite a while to learn, but it's truly rewarding when you master the button layout and timing required.
The grappling control system encourages the use of complex strategy to create variated and entertaining matches, instead of the button mashing that many Wrestling gamers is used to.

The game (as you might see in the video) feature a large roster of playable wrestlers and fighters from Japan and USA. None of the characters have any real-life counterparts, but they represent many different styles of professional wrestling: North American WWE style sports-entertainment, various styles of Japanese puroresu, women's joshi wrestling, as well as different styles of martial arts.

There is much to be said about Fire Pro Wrestling D (and all the other games in the Fire Pro Wrestling series). It's entertaining as heck. It's fun, but it's really hard to learn the controls. We haven't had this much fun with a wrestling game in a very, very long time.
Unfortunately this only came out in Japan and all the menus are in Japanese. But do not despair; since Fire Pro Wrestling is a very popular series even outside of Japan, there are always translation documents to be found. We used a translation sheet for the menues and suddenly the game became much more enjoyable.

We strongly recommend that you seek out this game and try it out. You won't regret it.
