In this video I show you how to fix Roblox chat not showing up issue. When you have this issue the chat may be missing from the Roblox UI, or you might not be able to chat at all. Fortunately, you can fix the Roblox chat not showing up issue just by changing your account communication settings.

To get to your communication settings you will need to leave a game if you’re in one. Following this you will then need to select More from the side, or bottom if you’re on Mobile. Here you will be able to open the Settings and go to the Privacy & Content Maturity options. Here you will be able to select Communication. To get your chat to show up in Roblox you will then need to select Experience chat, which is the chat used in games. From here you will need to set the Experience chat setting to everyone and the direct chat setting to everyone. Once done you can load back into a Roblox experience, and the chat will appear.

Additionally, you may want to enable the Party chat options to allow you to direct messge with friends. This is the chat that can be used outside of games on the app. Again, the Party chat settings can be found in the Privacy & Content Maturity options in the Communication settings. Typically, you will want to set both the Party and Group Party settings to Friends to allow you to chat with friends outside of games.
