Fix Sea of Thieves Error You'll Need A New App To Open This ms-xbl-multiplayer link (this solution only applies to Sea of Thieves supporting crossplay between Steam and Xbox.)
Step 1) Run Windows PowerShell (admin)
$path_full = 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\XboxLive\1717113201' ; foreach ($path_component in @((Split-Path -Path $path_full), $path_full)) {if (-not (Test-Path -Path $path_component)) {New-Item -Path $path_component}} ; New-ItemProperty -Path $path_full -Name 'AcceptProtocol' -Value 'steam://run/1172620//?cmd=accept_{1}_{2}_{0}' -Force ; New-ItemProperty -Path $path_full -Name 'JoinProtocol' -Value 'steam://run/1172620//?cmd=join_{2}_{1}_{0}' -Force

Restart PC
Step 2) This step only applies to games that support cross play between Steam and Xbox
Go to the game installation folder, copy the game folder and paste it somewhere, now uninstall the game in Steam, Move the folder back to its original location
Reinstall the game
Restart your PC
