FMCSA extends and changes HOS exemption | Trucking Answers
The FMCSA has extended yet again the hours of service exemption for certain items. This rule was to expire on June 14 and now it expires on July 14. The items that are exempt have changed, though and you need to know about it if you are going to use this exemption. The exemption covers all of 390-399 except the parts about actually having a CDL and a few other things. The FMCSA severely limited the items that qualify for the hos exemption. It was certainly time as the stores, at least those around me, have been full of products. Always make a copy of any bills that you were using to use this exemption and keep them forever. You could scan them as long as you have access to them if you get inspected or audited.
