Seeing the Forza Series make the leap to the PS5 in April of this year is so surreal.. and yet there is also the OG Gears of War coming in August as well for PS5, so I suppose this timeline of games from other systems fits well.
Forza Horizon 5 was originally a November 2021 PC/Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S game with a PS5 port being released on the 29th of April 2025. Forza Horizon 5 is based in the country of Mexico and follows our character we make in their journey to be number 1 of the Horizon fest. Its car list at launch was 500 vehicles from Ford and Porsche to Lamborghini and Mercedes Benz, also there are car packs, quite a few actually, and 2 DLCS: Hot Wheels, and Rally.
The base premise of the Horizon festival's events is to beat the AI and win races, when not in a race you are in a open living breathing world it feels like with other players on the road as well, Though I have a gripe with controls: Forza Horizon 5's controls are so mushy and feel like a hard hybrid between Forza's arcade racing roots and the simulator style braking and cornering that you'd see in Gran Turismo, this marriage of controls is frustrating as I had struggled with sharp turns. Needing to sign into your Microsoft account is a given though the amount of Racing games, that are online only is too damn high I feel..
