From PS1 & N64 in 1998 to PC in 2022! /GLOVER (Remastered?) Gameplay/
Glover on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1257880/Glover/
We can all name at least two, classic 3D adventures with cute animals or people who once managed to keep us busy like Croc, Crash Bandicoot, Mario 64, Spyro, Gex,... a list that can get quite long.
This included 'Glover', first released on N64 in 1998 and a year later on PS1, in the midst of a platformer and publishers' war for the smartest and most entertaining 3D platformer names.
Rumor has it that a sequel to the original Glover was once announced that never got around to it, so the surprise of a more modern version of the game is very pleasant, especially since we can also add it to our steam collection.
So in Glover you control a glove, a little bit like a mickey mouse glove and also with four fingers,
being this glove you will have to carry a ball through the complete levels.
You do this by rolling the ball further by pushing it with the palm of the glove, but also by other movements such as dribbling, throwing and more.
You certainly can't lose the ball, but it remains a required tool to get through the levels.
The story of the game is also not that complicated, there is no portal to another dimension or nothing that younger generations can not or hardly understand,
A wizard who makes special potions and one day made a wrong mix that caused a magical explosion,
Glover was one of the gloves this dude wore while mixing and 1 of them is a glover and the other will become your worst enemy,
so the other glove is the bad one in this game and you as Glover will have to save the wizard and the other glove from this dark magic.
You will also have to collect bouncing balls through the levels and you don't have to look for them now,
'the ball' you have to move is such a bouncing ball so you start with the ball in the levels, you just have to see that you get the ball to the end of the level and that's how you collect them.
Per level you will also have to overcome a series of challenging courses that sometimes require some insight from the player to get there, it will not always be as easy as with 1 regular throw and you will also have to deal with puzzles.
When you finish the game you would unlock a number of bonus levels that also give you some extra playing time.
In existing reviews you will notice that some had quite a bit to complain about the controls in the game,
I admit that I also had to get used to the controls, you quickly get an irritating feeling that reminds you of playing effective N64 3D games with an N64 controller, but real gamers get used to this, how could we be different at the time N64 and play other retro games? If it was possible for us then, it is now possible for others to master these retro controls.
