This is a metroidvania platformer. You can actually play this co-op or switch between both characters in singleplayer. The platforming is okay, the characters can feel a little floating in the air when trying to do short precision jumping up onto the top of columns though. Combat is okay, the two characters fight differently and you can equip different secondary weapons which keep things interesting. You find lots of weapons, but probably won't change them out much. The maps are quite good, but maybe the fast travel is only one way, back to the castle? Bosses were fine, and they did have health bars. Aesthetics reminded me of Castlevania which I really enjoyed. The respawns in this game are a bit weird, if a location has health or power pickups, you can leave and re-enter to keep collecting them until your bars are filled up.
