Galaga was ported to the Famicom Disk System, which was a peripheral released by Nintendo in 1990 as an extension for the Famicom (the Japanese version of the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES). The Famicom Disk System used rewritable floppy disks, providing an affordable way for players to access larger games compared to cartridges at the time.

In general, the Galaga FDS port offered a decent experience for fans of the original arcade game, but it was still limited by the Famicom’s hardware and the disk format.
