Game and Watch Gallery on Super Game Boy is Crazy!
Nintendo really went all out on this release. Sure, it's kinda late to the party for a DMG game coming out in 1997 but I think they made up for it with the Super Game Boy support. The custom boarders for the four modern game versions are okay BUT The boarders for the classic games are amazing! They attempt to emulate the appearance of a real Game and Watch screen bezel and they do it very successfully even matching the color variants of the different handhelds. The only one that kinda falls short is the Oil Panic game as it was originally a Dual Screen model looking like a Nintendo DS system. They can't exactly draw the custom boarder in the middle of the game screen so they did they best they could. The game also has custom color pallets that can push beyond the basic 4 colors of a DMG game running on the Super Game Boy. I counted up to 7 colors on screen in Fire. These games may not be the most in-depth but you have to remember what they really are. Segmented LCD games from the early 80's! Considering they're all basically high score single screen Arcade type affairs it shows once again how much they cared about this release by including a battery backup just to save your scores! This is a neat collection and an early example of Nintendo respecting their history. This makes it worth owning in my Game Boy collection.
