This is a solid action horror game on the Game Gear. Yeah, okay sure, it's a straight up Castlevania clone. But it's a really good game in its own right and far better than it deserves to be. Considering it's a Game Gear game this would have been the best Castlevania game you could have played in color on the go in 1992! The game was developed by Sims who are mainly known for other 8-bit Sega games inc Disney's Alladin (GG/SMS) and Tails Sky Patrol on GG. This is probably their best game. It's very impressive looking and the music is great. The game plays well for the most part. Sure the stairs can be a little annoying at times and the bats will drive you mad. But otherwise it's responsive and controls very well. Check this game out either on GG or Master System by any means you can. It's worth playing if you're a fan of the old 2D 8-bit Castlevania games.
