Shadow Man Remastered on Switch (I need a map!)
Shadow Man is a game I vaguely remembered from back in the day on N64 and Dreamcast. But never did play it. Recently there was a PC remastered version released and that peaked my interest at the time. Shortly later it was announced that a version was also coming to the Nintendo Switch and I knew now was the time to finally try Shadow Man!
Well, the game is awesome in many ways. The atmosphere is great, the chanting music at times is haunting and as a remaster there's a lot to like here. The textures are sharper and the game runs at a mostly solid 60 FPS. There's lots of options to tweak like depth of field, motion blur, texture filtering and you can even toggle the original low res textures. My biggest complaint with the game is the scale and complexity of the level design without offering any kind of in game map. It's way too easy to get lost in this game! I've been to areas I can't even fathom to recall how I got there and question if I can ever find my way back there again! Today we can easily look up maps online but back when the game launched on N64 I would have gladly bought the strategy guide for this one! In fact if I ever come across one today I might just pick it up.
