did you also grow up with 8bit music? For me it was on the SNES that I first fell in love with gamemusic & its music (metroid, breath of fire 2, zelda etc) was pretty much the reason I eventually decided to become a game composer.Here's the B-Version of the 1st Worlds OST i composed for the Pixel Art Metroidvania by @littlepixelgames // while the main theme is characterized by a classic folk & heritage instrumentation, more and more synthetic 8/16 bit retro synthesizers are added during the progression of the game, which represent the art style of the game. The gloomy folk/heritage instrumentation is reduced (for example, the children's choir of the main theme that I posted 2 days ago is only used for formative story elements), but the basic elements remain for the entire OST as part of the instrumentation, to amplify the world's inherently "grim and alien" appeal. At the same time, this ensures that the evolution of synthetic instruments becomes more obvious and the impact of this is amplified (the world is also becoming more technical/synthetic)
VSTs I used:
@ugritone koji
@uvi 8 bit synth
& Superstring Custom, Hybrid SFX, Piano + Orch Instrumentation by @8dio
