Game Review 1 Xcom Chimera Squad (1)
3Xcom Chimera Squad is a tactical turn based role playing game with some strategic elements. It was published by 2K Games and developed by Firaxis Games. The Xcom series was originally conceived by Julian Gollop. However, Sid Meier's team has revitalized the then dormant Xcom brand into a premier tactical franchise. The deeper time unit system was foregone for a less complicated two move system. Although, the contemporary iteration is more efficient. Xcom Chimera Squad is a canonical spin off of the modern numbered Xcom games.
Xcom Chimera Squad takes place in city 31, a metropolis that is dealing with tensions between human, alien, and hybrid factions. Xcom is being utilized as a kind of SWAT team that takes on challenges that the local police department cannot currently fulfill. The team is a mixture of former soldiers representing both sides of the previous Advent War. A conflict that continues to cause dissension and threatens to tear city 31 apart. Gangs seem to operate with impunity, threatening to wreck the rich vision of a truly egalitarian city shared by humans and their new neighbors. Xcom was able to help overthrow a tyrannical alien regime, but can they maintain the peace? It is up to you to take command of an elite squad that may be the key to stemming the tide of a total collapse.
There is an all new, but intuitive turn based system that deviates from series staples. Fans of the series will enjoy a new take on the lore. Veterans of previous Xcoms will feel at home with Xcom Chimera Squad. You will need to manage city 31's unrest and conduct raids in order to maintain the society's ever teetering equilibrium. If not city 31 will fail as it descends into a spiral of anarchy. Mods are compatible through Steam. I hope that you enjoy my review.

Challenge: How stimulating the game is, the ability to connect critical thinking to the experience, and replayability. Fun: The game's enjoyability, lack of bugs, or glaring faults of the experience.
