Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
In the same conference call we talked about with movies, Iger also said that in the gaming division, Disney was going to continue to license their games instead of making them in house. In a separate investor’s conference call, Electronic Arts announced a new Star Wars Game: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It is going to be a story based third person action adventure game that will be canon with the main Star Wars universe.
Final Fantasy VII
As part of Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct announcements they revealed that not only was Square going to start porting Final Fantasy games, but VII, IX, X, X-2, XII, and that Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon game, were the first on the list to be ported.
Dungeons and Dragons
Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast unveiled a new DnD starter set at the New York Toy Fair. This is totally something that we nerds probably should have seen coming as soon as the first season of Stranger Things began streaming on Netflix. It is a Stranger Things themed starter kit. In the starter you will get to play the game that Mike Wheeler created in the first season of the show. With special character sheets for each of the main characters’ DnD character from the show (Will the Wise, Dustin the Dwarf, etc.). Pre-orders are live on Amazon and Entertainment Earth for 24.99.
Capcom on Spotify
Capcom has released a bunch of their game soundtracks onto Spotify.
There are original soundtracks and some remix albums, all are enough though to get your feels.

Reviews
Apex Legends
It is weird reviewing a game that is free to play. Because any quibble you have with any aspect of the game is undercut by the fact that you didn’t pay anything for it. Which is partially, I believe, why Fortnite is so popular, and why all those casual phone games have so many players. But what happens when you don’t really have any real issues with the game? Sure there are some nit picks, but here this feels like the best kind of free to play. The kind that you actually love to play, AND you don’t have to pay for. On the technical side of things Respawn entertainment has deepened not only the free to play battle royale genre, but also the FPS genre. The way they utilize the classes of characters is brilliant. And the three person team aspect is also a stroke of genius. One of my main issues with Fortnite is the fact that you can get put out the instant you touch ground. With the 3 person team, you have the opportunity to be revived by one of your team mates, or if that window closes, there is also a respawn option if your teammates can make it to a respawn location fast enough.
The issues I had with the game are fairly minor. First I wish there were more characters, and maybe more archetypes to pick from, though that likely will be taken care of with future updates of the game. The ping/request system is also a great addition to the FPS genre, making it possible to communicate well without a mic. But there are some holes in it. You can’t request gear that you don’t kind of already have, aside from shields. Meaning you can’t request a weapon if your teammates have them and you don’t, you also can’t request health items like syringes or med kits if you have 0 in your inventory. Gameplay wise I wish there were a cover system, the aiming system feels a little clunky, and I feel the damage done by each type of ammo is too similar to each other.
General Score: 95/100
