The early 2000's hit differently with handheld games, Gameboy Advance I got well back in 2002 had such a library of games for the 3rd system with Gameboy in its name. And among the 10 games I had at the time was this sequel to the original 1997 Lego Island PC game, The game in question was also based on the Lego Island kit lineup for 2001.

Released for Gameboy Advance on October 2nd 2001, Lego Island II The Brickster's Revenge follows Pepper, a pizza delivery kid being requested by the Infomaniac to help again with a serious issue, the brickster who was arrested in Lego Island has escaped and has de-constructed all of Lego Island. Our goal? Rebuild all the buildings, and put the Brickster back in jail.

Played from a isomeric 2D position we guide Pepper around Lego Island walking over "trading cards" and other crucial items we need to get pages to rebuild Lego island's buildings, When we earn a skateboard travel doesn't take too long and is accessed by pressing the B button. A throws pizzas which defeat brickster bots and L opens our map while R is the inventory button.

Minigames are also a major part of Lego Island II The Brickster's Revenge with many of them required to progress, for the longest time I could never ever complete the Castle Island joust as tapping buttons fast was very difficult as a kid and even today its painful for me. It takes me back this game to a time nearly 22 years ago when Nintendo actually had a solid handheld system to follow the original Gameboy and Gameboy Color, Lego themselves need no introduction for the kits they release and their older games were pretty fun.
