The first half of class was spent going through the reports students wrote on their chosen GDC talks, and there was indeed some really good insights contained within the summaries.
The second half of class we went over importing materials into materials in UE4, which are done via these unnecessarily awkward things called material functions. We do this to get the benefit of all the hard work material authors have made to avoid tiling their textures, but it does take some extra steps. We ended up with a landscape that looked okay.
