Get All Three Starter Pokémon in Blue or Red Version (Game Boy) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In Pokémon Blue and Red for the Nintendo Game Boy, there's a relatively simple glitch you can perform to start the game with all three starter Pokémon. Just like in the anime, you can have Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander on your team at the very beginning of your adventure.
First, play the game like normal until you make it to Professor Oak's laboratory. Choose any of the starters. In this case, I chose Bulbasaur. Now immediately save your game, reset, and start a new game.
When you start this new game, the very first thing you're going to do is save your game over the existing file. But! When that second YES/NO box appears, you're going to choose YES, then reset immediately after the YES/NO option box disappears, but BEFORE the text box says "Now saving..."
Now choose to Continue your game after that reset. If you timed it just right, you will begin a brand new game with that starter Pokemon you chose already in your lineup. Now you can go back to Prof. Oak's lab and choose another Pokemon, then perform the same trick again.
So in this case I went back, chose Squirtle, saved my game, and reset. After resetting, I started a NEW GAME and as soon as I gained control of my character, I went to SAVE the game. Again, I reset the game after the YES/NO options disappeared, but before the text box at the bottom of the screen said "Now saving..."
Note that when you're saving your game to replace an already existing file, there will be two YES/NO boxes that appear. You want to reset your game after the SECOND YES/NO box.
Anyway, after performing the trick twice, I was able to continue my game, and I had Bulbasaur and Squirtle in my party already. The last step was to simply head to Oak's house and choose Charmander.
It's not even that difficult! You could easily do this on an actual gameboy with a little practice. And that's how you start Pokemon Blue or Red with all three starter Pokemon. Gen 1 Pokemon is so busted.
