The Infinite Money Glitch in Shantae (Game Boy Color) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
1,075In Shantae for the Game Boy Color and also the Game Boy Advance, there is a fairly easy glitch you can perform right at the beginning of the game to earn fast money from the item shop. With some patience, you can earn virtually infinite money right at the beginning of Shantae.
First you will need enough money to buy some Storm Puffs and at least one other item from the shop, then purchase the Storm Puffs (but hold on to the rest of your cash for now).
Exit the Item Shop and equip your Storm Puffs, then head back into the store.
Inside the Item Shop, immediately hit Up and B to activate the Storm Puff, then run up to the counter and speak with the merchant. The bolt from the Storm Puff should hit Shantae while the item purchasing menu is up, and when this happens, you will gain control over your character while still controlling your cursor in the item menu.
Scroll down and select an item you can afford, and when the merchant says "BUY IT?" scroll down to highlight "NO."
Now, hold Left on the D-Pad and Shantae will begin to walk away. Your cursor will also switch to highlight the "YES" option. Just as Shantae exits the shop, press A or B to confirm the transaction while the screen is fading, then immediately re-enter the shop.
If you timed everything correctly, you should gain an amount of money equal to the cost of the item you selected. In this example I selected the Pike Balls item which costs 25 gold, so I had 25 gold "refunded" to me as soon as I re-entered the shop. Sometimes if your timing is off, you will gain just a portion of the cost of the item you chose, but hey that's still free money.
Just remember to refill your health every now and then, because the Storm Puff does deal some damage to Shantae. And yeah, this works on GBC, GBA, and the Switch port. Maybe others if those exist?
