Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko (Feb 8, 1999 beta)
"Reminds me of Halloween at Rip Taylor's!"
As part of a massive prototype release at Hidden Palace, this beta ended up dumped and released a few days ago. Compared to the earlier beta, a lot more stuff is fleshed out and closer to the final, although the beta likes to crash at certain points. Not only that, but it appears that the unused levels listed from the previous beta, although there's a new entry labeled "proto55", have already been deleted, as selecting them from the debug menu softlocks the game on the loading screen.
Probably even more surprising is that the scrapped GTOWN1 level was still intended to be in the game at this point, as its entrance in Slappy Valley still exists with more polish behind it, although it still doesn't lead anywhere. The level itself has also been worked on since then, but there are things that can crash the game in there. Perhaps this would be the final iteration before getting scrapped?
There's plenty more minor differences this newly discovered beta has, and I haven't even checked everything this has to offer yet.
